This was causing the risk of infection to increase as well as OR time being mishandled.

SOLUTION: PrefTech OR identified medical supplies that could be corrected on the preference card as well as providing a solution to decrease returns and improving efficiencies.

CHALLENGE: The hospital has 45 operating rooms and performs 23,966 procedures annually. There was an undefined process for managing preference cards. The customer was in the midst of an EMR conversion and looking for a partner to assist with cleaning up their preference cards before implementing their new EMR system.

SOLUTION: PrefTech partnered with the OR team, supply chain, and executives to QA their data to prepare it for input into the PrefTech OR software. This assisted with an overall clean-up of the facility’s preference cards that could then be utilized for their new EMR implementation.

CHALLENGE: The hospital has 30 operating rooms that performs 11,849 procedures annually. This facility was experiencing over ordering of medical supplies and increased waste as a result of a “bull-whip effect” from an excessive amount of returned supplies. The hospital was looking for savings opportunities and to standardize their surgeons’ preferences.

SOLUTION: The Client Success Team worked 1:1 with physicians and specialty team leads in the Card Comparison and Projects tools to improve standardization, increase accuracy of their preference cards, and reduce waste. PrefTech OR provided transparency for the hospital’s interdisciplinary teams to expand their overall user engagement within the platform, which resulted in an improved workflow and efficiencies.
