CHALLENGE: Hospital A has 94 operating rooms and facilitates 78,801 procedures annually. The hospital was experiencing high volumes of medical supply returns that resulted in budgetary concerns. The staff also verbalized frustration to their leadership about inefficiencies caused by exiting and re-entering the OR suite multiple times during a procedure. This was causing the risk of infection to increase as well as a mishandling of OR time.
SOLUTION: PrefTech OR identified medical supplies that needed correction on the hospital’s preference cards and provided a solution to decrease returns and improve efficiencies.
